Recipe to be a Successful Graduate Student

After watching the new release Julie & Julia, a delightful communication assignment that forced me away from writing about the thrill of sovereignty, I felt inspired by Julia Child’s can-do attitude to create a recipe for how to chop, beat, mix, and whip my way to graduate success. Below is my first attempt. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Recipe to be a Successful Graduate Student
Serves 1.

1. Begin with two days. Put in blender and puree into one manageable 48 hour day.

2. Drain the bank account.

3. Add in a personal assistant, a cooperative computer, and a comfortable chair. Beat briskly until April.

4. Separate the can-do from the self-doubt. Discard the negative attitude. Add the can-do together with Step 2.

5. Next, throw in a dash of brilliance and pour into an academic mold. Allow to chill overnight.

6. Unmold, then divide into four courses. Place on a platter for an appealing presentation.
